Dominating the spires of Oxford University and the city is the dome of the Radcliffe Camera, built between 1737 and 1749. It is England's earliest example of a round reading room (camera is the medieval name for room) and still serves that purpose for the Bodleian Library. © 2009 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
