- The most famous of bridges to cross the Vltava River in the Czech Republic of Prague, is the Charles Bridge. The Stone Bridge (as indeed it was originally called) is half a kilometre long, and is home to thirty impressive statues depicting religious figures, and important personages in Prague's past. By day the bridge is jam-packed with tourists, small souvenir stalls and buskers; even at night the bridge is a popular tourist attraction.
