- The foothills of the Himalayas are lush and green, in contrast to the stark scenery higher up. This shot was taken whilst crossing the Kaligandaki River, between the quaint town of Marpha and the settlement of Ghasa. In the middle distance pine trees stand erect, whilst clouds move in to obscure the snow-topped mountains behind.
