Artist Notes
Most of the thrashing machines I see in this area are made of metal. Which I suppose is not surprising, given the ability of metal to outlast wood. So I was quite surprised when I came across this example constructed almost entirely of wood. At the time I was not sure of the age, but it appears that it was built and used prior to 1920.
