A herd of sheep and goats are shepherded through a remote valley by a handful of hardy men. The rocky and inhospitable landscape belongs to the Lahaul Valley, in the Himalayan state Himachal Pradesh in northern India. In the distance snow-capped mountains tower over the land, contrasting with the bright blue sky. From November to April this region gets around two metres of snow.
