Artist Notes
Arni Arnason was born in Iceland in 1850. In 1875 he married Valgerdur Peturson and subsequently in 1889 moved to Akra North Dakota. In 1899 they came to Canada to homestead at N.E. 4-1-6. Arni Died in 1902 and was buried in the Icelandic Cemetery. They had one son Arni who homesteaded on S.W. 2-1-6 and Two Girls Sigrid and Margaret. This cabin sits at the edge of the valley and looks over into the US which is about a mile away. Based upon the condition of the structure it may have been the original house built by the Arnason Family.
