A small boat cuts across Palolem Bay on a calm day. Palolem is one of the best beaches for swimming in Goa, as the bay keeps strong currents away. Palolem is in the south of the favourite holiday state of Goa in southern India. Palolem attracts a good mix of domestic, Indian, tourists; holidaymakers from Europe; and backpackers and other long-term stayers. Palolem is renowned for its mile-long crescent-shaped beach.
