Taking a boat ride at sunrise is a very popular activity in Varanasi, both for foreign tourists and Indian pilgrims alike. Here a boat containing holiday-makers is approached by Indian hawkers, also in wooden rowing boats, who are selling votives and offerings to the Goddess Ganga.
