- The dhobi wallahs are the laundry-men, who was clothes for a small amount of money. They bring the laundry down to the river, and beat it against their flogging stone to bash the dirt from the clothes. Their reflections shimmer on the surface of the River Ganges in Varanasi, India's holiest of cities.
