- Cuttlefish are marine molluscs, considered to be one of the most intelligent of invertebrates. They eat small molluscs, crabs, shrimp, fish, octopuses, worms, and other cuttlefish, and their life expectancy is about one to two years. This young specimen was spotted hovering above hard coral in the Red Sea off Egypt.
