- Two divers watch excitedly as a hawksbill turtle swims over the sand in the waters off the Turks and Caicos Island of Providenciales. The hawksbill sea turtle, which is critically endangered, is similar in appearance to other marine turtles, having a flattened body shape, a protective carapace, and flipper-like arms, adapted for swimming in the open ocean.
