- There has always been construction happening in Toronto, but over the last 10 years, the frequency and variety of structures has increased enormously. Our economy is solid (one of the few countries which never really saw a recession during the last downturn). There is a $15 plus billion dollar revamp of the city, from the east, west, north and south, and it goes on night and day. Thousands of new enthusiastic families and individuals immigrating here, plus thousands of ambitious citizens making alot more money; there dosn’t seem any end in sight to the growth!
.....and, While am sure our city looks great during the day time with all the buildings, am most attracted to their look at night. Here in early summer (at Spadina & Front St.), I tried to capture the rawness of machines and workers gouging tons of earth from a site that was once a massive rail yard servicing our prized trains such as Canadian National (CN) (hence the CN Tower just behind this new construction), Canadian Pacific (CPP) and VIA Rail, etc.
