An adorable little Barred Owl resting and recuperating at the Lathrop E. Smith Environmental Education Center near Olney, Maryland. It's my understanding that hurt or sick wildlife is treated there and, whenever possible, released back to the wild. I've spent many an hour here chaperoning my son's field trips and always enjoyed the visit very much. Image taken with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon/Nikkor lens.
