“See how the sacred old flamingoes come, Painting with shadow all the marble steps: Aged and wise, they seek their wonted perches Within the temple, devious walking, made To wander by their melancholy minds.” from Anashuya And Vijaya by William Butler Yeats The image of this little darling was captured on May 5, 2011 at the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve & Zoo in Thurmont, Maryland. Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens. Very little post processing in Photoshop CS4. Shutter speed 1/1600, aperture f/ 8.0, exposure -0.33, focal length 300mm, one chip color area, spot metering, iso 400.
