- I did this design for 2 reasons....
First, I have become a huge fan of Otl Aicher. Aicher was the head of the design team that created the graphics for the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich Germany. The simplicity of the pictograms defined the term 'Universal Language' and have become the basis for public signs all over the world.
Second, the first 3 weeks of July is the only time of year I do any television watching at all. It will be during those 3 weeks I'll be glued to the TV, watching The Tour de France.
This is the first of my tributes to probably the greatest annual sporting event on the planet.
