Artist Notes: We are still surrounded by snow here in the frozen north, even though I have been assured that spring has arrived! This took me back to Witsand on the South African southern coast where I still have a small cottage and what it looked like there in the springtime on a perfect day. When the air was warm, the sea blue and calm, and the dunes covered in wildflowers after good winter rains. I had no choice but to paint my memories!
