It's 1874 - a sultry, summer Friday midnight in Connecticut. An advertising placard for _Comstock, Ferre & Co._ - located in Old Wethersfield and the oldest continuously-operating seed company in America - holds pride of place in the front window of a general store.
The quiet main street is reflected in the window as well. Most everyone is tucked in and fast asleep, but if you look closely, you'll see an elderly gentleman tiptoeing off the porch of the boardinghouse across the street. It's anybody's guess as to what he's been up to.
