While on business in St. Charles, Illinois outside of Chicago, Dan had an afternoon free before travelling to enjoy some photographic exploration on the grounds of the hotel where he was staying. It was Spring and just outside the meeting facilities of the hotel, the tulips were in full bloom. This tulip on the verge of opening completely displayed a quiet beauty in the soft light of the setting sun. To more fully focus on the tulip's form, a conversion to black & white seemed most appropriate.
