After a brilliantly clear sunrise, early morning clouds and light begin to fill Mount Haleakala's volcanic crater. Haleakala crater is like landing on the moon. So like a luna surface the Apollo astronauts trained here. The crater is enormous, about 20 miles around full of color and interesting features. Take a hike and stay in one of the overnight cabins. A Haleakala sunrise is an experience of a lifetime.
