Artist Notes: from the Nature Collection

Along with his partner Shawn, Dan entered the "2007 Shoot the Hills Photography Competition" in the four county southeastern region of Ohio known as Hocking Hills. The Hocking Hills region and State Park is a magnificent area chock full of rolling landscapes, creeks & streams, lakes, sandstone cliffs, waterfalls and wildlife. Competing photographers were given 24 hours to creat their best images and 4 hours to prep the images for submission for judging. This wonderful specimen of a yellow-bellied sapsucker was captured after the competition on the grounds of the cabin in which the photographers were lodging.
