Many great images can be found not far from your own front door. For Dan, the few miles along the Susquehanna River just North or South from his home/studio are a treasure trove of inspiration and material in rural south-central Pennsylvania. There is, of course, the river. But there are also miles of hiking trails and lime kiln ruins and abandoned buildings and . . . Just across the river in Lancaster County is a small river town called Marietta. On the edge of town is an architectural preservation site known as Musselman Vesta. It was on the grounds of this site that Dan stumbled upon these Toadstool "Sidhe" or Fairyfolk. While the Musselman Vesta will be preserved for the sake of history, the land surrounding it is reclaiming itself! Look closely at the world around you . . . if you are attentive, you will discover all sorts of treasure!
