At the end of a business trip to Memphis, Tennessee Dan had a little time and the opportunity to explore Meeman Shelby State Park just outside the city limits. Towards the end of his explorations, he spotted a Cypress swamp from atop a steep incline. Tired from several miles of hiking, he was about to walk away from what became a golden opportunity. As the sun began to set and stream through the trees to the murky swamp, the light shimmering on the water caught his eye. Dan couln't resist the sight so trekked on down the hill. What he discovered was a magical faerie realm with wonderous sights to behold. The title is based on the Cypress's association with the underworld, grief and mourning in Greek mythology. Cypressus sempervirens is also the principal cemetery tree both in the Western and Muslim worlds.
