- An adopted son of Royalty,he rose to defend the humble with words, and then deeds...for which he stood accused. He offered his life,That honor was refused.''If we hang him,he`ll be a martyr, but if we lock him away,he`ll be forgotten.'' .....They gave him an island prison and rocks to break.....for 27 years....HE did not break...the people did not forget. The hungry, the crowded, the imprisoned, the lynched ,the widowed,...the ignored.HE lived the cause, A Shepherd and a Shaman, his flock swelled, his spirit grew...and the world turned........to notice....and when the power fell......into his hands,HE did not strike out with revenge...HE reached out...for reconcilliation........oil on canvas
