Turn Again Arm, an inlet near Anchorage, got its name from Captain Cook, who was forced to turn around time and again as the tides prevented the passage of his ships further inland. Dan does not remember all the details, but in a very short period of time, the tides turn and the water level rises and falls at alarming rates. A landscape from an unforgettable summer tour in the magnificent wilderness lands of Alaska, the Yukon and Canada. Copyright 2002 by Daniel G.
