This mysterious scene was created from a single image of sandstone formations at the Torrey Pines State Reserve in San Diego. Sandstone Egyption reflects the intricate complexities of nature that can result from a close examination of and reflection of/on nature's simplicity. The base image for this photo reminded Keo of an Egyptian sarcophagus, mummies and scarabs. The images from Torrey Pines on Christmas Day in 2007 were Dan's way of dealing with a bout of minor depression at having to be away from Shawn and the rest of his family during the holiday season due to an extended business trip. It's amazing how the creative process can lighten the spirit and bring the shining light of the world back into the shadowed soul. Copyright 2008 by Daniel G.
