- From the series Elemental Reflections
On an unforgettable helicopter tour of Kaua'i, Dan captured many aerial photographs, some of which served as raw material for the "Elemental Reflections" series. While reviewing the digital files months after the trip, he found Popoki ka Pele peering out at him, reminding him of the many calls from Pele he heard while on the Islands. Pele first landed among what are now the Hawaiian Islands on Kaua'i and later made her home on the Big Island. Her cat apparently stayed behind to watch over the beautiful garden Island she first called home and to remind visitors of her continued presence there. Copyright 2008 by Daniel G.
