The title is a word derived from Sanskrit, a classical language of India and a liturgical language of Hinduism and other Indian religions. Deepak Chopra translated it's meaning as "I honor the Spirit in you which is also in me." From Wikipedia, another translation is "I honor the place in you in which the entire Universe dwells, I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Integrity, of Wisdom and of Peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are One." No matter the translation, the word has powerful spiritual and uniting connotations that are evident in most, if not all indigenous religions and philosophies, including Huna among the Hawaiian Islands. It is that spirit of Namaste that emerged in this reflection of and on a lava flow in Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park. Copyright 2008 by Daniel G.
