Created from a single twilight image of tree bark in the Laumier Sculpture Park in Fenton, Missouri. The itle is derived from the Druidic Lughnasadh celebration of the ripening of first fruits and the modern Gaelic word for the month of August. Enduring the stares of the uninitiated and disenfranchised as he contorts for just the right up close and personal point of view of the tree's bark with just a bit of blue sky in the frame, Dan knows in the depth of his soul that he has connected with an ancient Druid soul still attached and living within that tree - and as a swallowtail from its chrysalis, that spirit revealed himself through light, shadow and vibrant color.
