Haili moe a ka Menehune is a summoning of the spirit, wisdom, fortitude and industry of Hawaii's "little" or "star" people. Also known as 'e'epa (mysterious ones), the Menehune are famed to have built great fish ponds in the course of only a single night. If their projects were not completed over night, they were abandoned and left unfinished. Created from a single abstract aerial image of the south westerly coast of Kauai at the end of an unforgettable helicopter tour of the island, Haili moe a ka Menehune is Dan's offering back to the Menehune for the many gifts they freely gave during his stay in paradise.
